Faith in  Christ   leads to action

Reconciliation of Humans with God through Jesus Christ

This document is reprinted from a paper I wrote
for a class at Ashland Theological Seminary.

Jesus’ sacrificial death and his resurrection are
the all-important elements of Christian faith.

Jesus suffered and died to save us from sin.
The Atonement was accomplished by Jesus to
reconcile sinful humans to God. This paper
explains three purposes of the Atonement with
Biblical references: ransom, substitute, sacrifice.

2Co 5:18-19  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
